Thailand September 2nd 2006 Onwards

So have now cleared everything out of my flat except for what i'm goin to try & cram into my oversized rucksack - got my new spex today but contact lenses weren't there & may not be there tomorrow either so will have to get some in thailand - bit of a fucker!! should have been lasered by now & not worrying about this shit!! wondering whether i can go on scuba courses with contact lenses or will i just have to enjoy the fish that are very close up to me! fly from edinburgh tomorrow night at 1815 & don't think i'll be allowed ipod on plane -feckin nightmare! Next time i type into this thing i will be in thailand - fuck aye!!!

So have got visa stamp,tarvel insurance, new tattoo, new glasses, have ordered 3 month supply of aeriated/oxygenated super duper contact lenses,got travellers cheques,have scanned & photocopied passport,visa stamp,travel insurance details 7 trvllrs chq numbers, had 3 sunbeds of varyingly increasing lengths(so hopefully don't look too much like new entrant to BKK) & am ready to go!! Just got to pack up & move stuff from my flat to pals lock-up, fill my ruck-sack to bursting point then I'm off!!! I can see myself now on the plane not watching some film I saw pirated 6 months ago but reading & re-reading my lonely planet books on Thailand - keep the stereotype alive!! Should I take my copy of The Beach?? Or is that pushin it too far??

So, to begin......I travel to Bangkok on 2nd September flying to Paris for changeover to BKK. I was recently sacked from my job at a local building society so took bank loan next day & am bumpin it off & fuckin off!! Fuck it....what's here anyway?? People scurrying about trying to get better houses than their friends & better cars than their neighbours, then more "unique" names for their children than their friends & neighbours!! Got passport, got rucksack, got vaccinations against diptheria,tetanus,polio,typhoid & hep A. Will get malarone tablets for malaria (then hope I don't catch rabies), got travel insurance for a year, got plenty new t-shirts,shorts & travel wash etc. Just waiting for visa but my application arrived yesterday, so will just have to get travellers cheques,pack up my shit,clear out my house....then GO!!!
Never really travelled before as was too much of a shite bag to go on my own (unlike my brother) I have been to Magalluf,Ibiza,Benidorm,Kavos,Croatia,Germany,Amsterdam & Dublin which when written doesn't look that bad but 5 of those were with my mum!!
So.....have iPod, will travel!! Have copied about 40 cd's onto my wee nano pod, fuckin excellent wee thing!! Will probably be the first thing that gets robbed off me! Only two weeks to go so will add to this thing in Thailand if I remember. Travelling on my own which doesn't really bother me as I can't really be arsed with my own friends all that much here so wouldn't really want any of them with me there! Got an email address from brother(who currently lives in vietnam) for some friend of his in BKK but don't think I'll bother until a few days after i'm there, if at all - don't want to be tied to havin to meet some guy who i don't even know when i get there....besides he might be a prick!!
